In Lisa Sierra's postpartum haze, in 2003, she had a great idea. She wanted a parent inspired place that offered lots of creative things for kids to do without, tv's or video games that stimulated her toddler as she grew, and offered her options for hanging out with her newborn. Above all, a clean, secure and attractive place, they would all love to be.
Combining the best of their favourite hip cafes with a children's museum type place- they've done it! Lisa met Jennifer Jurkowski in the parking lot of their kids preschool. A 2 hour conversation later, and Jen was hooked!
A week later in Sept. 2005, they formed a partnership and The Urban Treehouse was born. After 1 year of late nights, planning, and excitement, they chose to open their first location in Airdrie, AB where they are raising their families. With the help of supportive husbands, who are their biggest cheerleaders and their 4 "tester" kids, Lisa & Jen opened the first of The Urban Treehouse Playcentres.
